Hours: 10hrs/wk, after school/work study program for highschool students
Reports To: Program Manager
Supervises: None
The Programs Team at LC Nature Park is responsible for planning, preparing, and executing all public programs, tours, and field trips at LC Nature Park. This position offers prospective applicants the opportunity to get hands-on experience with customer service, guest management, event planning, nature education, and more.
*This position will not work directly with the animals.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the planning, setup, and execution of park programs, including preparation, marketing, and cleanup.
- Provide support during private tours and field trips, ensuring smooth operations and excellent guest service.
- Support park staff with administrative tasks, including paperwork and data entry.
Qualifications
- Experience in customer service, event coordination, or education.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working weekends and evenings as needed.
- Willingness to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. Safety is a priority at LCNP and we will cease outdoor work if there are hazardous conditions, but your days may be perfect, hot, cold, wet, dry, or mosquito-y.
- Ability to handle stressful situations appropriately, maintaining mental, emotional, and social resilience needed for the job in a fast-paced, interactive environment.
- Must be 16 years or older and be able to pass a criminal background check.
Physical Aspects of the Job
This position will require bending, stooping, walking long distances across rugged terrain and prolonged standing. This position involves daily exposure to sun, heat, dust, and animals, including wild animals and those maintained at the park.
- Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid. Must be able to assist guests in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury).
Certifications and Licenses
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
