About LC Nature Park

Transforming Indiana’s Future by Restoring its Past.

Nestled in the Little River Valley southwest of Fort Wayne, Indiana, LC Nature Park encompasses over 300 acres dedicated to providing transformative outdoor educational experiences for visitors of all ages. With herds of bison and elk grazing on restored tallgrass prairie, the park offers a unique glimpse into Indiana’s natural heritage. Visitors can engage hands-on with the park’s rich biodiversity, fostering a deeper connection to the environment.

Committed to protecting and restoring its historic landscape, LC Nature Park creates meaningful opportunities for learners of all ages to observe a variety of native plants and animals. The park inspires joy and discovery, encouraging everyone to explore the wonders of nature here and in their own backyards.

Many in our community face barriers to accessing outdoor spaces, which limits opportunities to experience and enjoy the benefits of nature, including improved mental health and community cohesion. It is increasingly vital to have accessible environments in our community where all can connect with nature.

Experiencing the beauty of the natural world enhances awareness of life’s complexities and interconnections, cultivating a profound, lasting appreciation for the environment. By providing unique experiences that spark curiosity, LC Nature Park fosters memorable moments and strengthens bonds among families and friends through natural outdoor education.

Our Mission

To cultivate a sense of awe and curiosity about our natural environment by providing immersive experiences, educational opportunities, and lively gatherings that create connection and inspire a commitment to conservation.

Your gift to LC Nature Park is more than a donation; it’s an investment in our community’s future. As an independent nonprofit operating without tax support, we rely on generous supporters like you to continue our mission. Every dollar directly funds our vital work, from maintaining our trails to caring for our animals and providing transformative natural education programs. Help inspire the next generation of environmental stewards in Northeast Indiana. Be part of our story by becoming a member, visiting often, volunteering, or donating to ensure the park’s continued role in conservation and education.
