The park is now closed for the season and will reopen to the public in May 2026.

During the off-season, you can still experience the beauty and wonder of LC Nature Park by joining us for one of our special programs and events! These include guided hikes, family activities, and educational experiences that highlight our bison, elk, prairie, and woodlands.

Visit our Programs Page to explore upcoming opportunities and register to join us.

Please note: We are not open for general visits during the off-season, but we do welcome pre-scheduled groups and field trips by appointment.

Some areas at the park are only accessible via a guide to ensure a safe, engaging, and educational experience for all ages.

Looking for more ways to connect with nature? Check out our full calendar of programs and special events; there’s always something new to discover!

Visitor Guidelines

For your personal safety

Dress for outdoor conditions such as heat, sun, rain, insects, and uneven terrain. Long pants, long sleeves, closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, insect repellent, and water are recommended.

Always remain on trails and with your group.

Stay alert for sudden weather changes.

Remain at least three feet away from all fences and gates.

Avoid startling the bison and elk by remaining quiet and calm when the animals are nearby.

Restrooms & Drinking Fountain

Restrooms and a drinking fountain are available in the Mills Education Center.

Parking

Please park in the lot on the right side of the entry drive. Cars may pull up to the roundabout at the Mills Education Center to drop off passengers before parking in a designated space.

Overflow parking is located in the grassy area in front of the brown barn on the hill.

Preserving the Park’s Natural Beauty

Dogs, horses, bicycles, motorbikes, drones, firearms, smoking, vaping, open flames, and off-road vehicles are prohibited.

Leave all plants, flowers, rocks, feathers, antlers, live animals, and other natural materials where you find them.

If you create trash, carry it out.

There are no trash containers on the trails.

Respect private property bordering the park.

Your program leader may apply additional guidelines not listed here.
