This month’s Saturday Sprouts program is all about elk! Young learners will discover these incredible animals and learn about their habitat, diet, and the important role they play in our prairie ecosystem. They’ll explore how elk use their keen senses to find food, stay safe, and thrive throughout the changing seasons.
The session includes a guided hike or safari bus tour to observe the park’s elk in their natural habitat while learning fun facts about their behavior and the signs they leave behind. Children will also enjoy an engaging story time featuring an themed book, create a craft, and finish the morning with a themed snack that connects to the day’s activities.
Through storytelling, hands-on activities, and an exciting outdoor adventure, this program encourages children to build a deeper appreciation for wildlife and discover what makes elk such an important part of our natural world.
Saturday Sprouts is a program aimed for children ages preschool through first grade.
