LC Nature Park offers a distinctive approach to nature connection and conservation, and community engagement. As the only location in Indiana where bison and elk roam together in a natural enclosure, we provide a unique window into Indiana’s prairie heritage. Unlike traditional park systems, we operate without governmental funding or tax support, yet deliver significant community value as both a local resource and tourist destination. While we share elements with state parks, zoos, and conservation agencies, our integrated approach sets us apart—transforming an accessible urban-adjacent space into an immersive natural oasis.
